    Description
    The main Administration of corrective labor camps and labor settlements (GULAG) was originally organized in structure OGPU 25.04.1930 g. After a series of renamings and conversions 10.06.1934, it became part of the NKVD of the USSR. 27.10.1934 of the CEC and CPC of the USSR adopted a decision to transfer all correctional labour institutions of the system NKJU of the USSR and Union republics - houses of detention (the house-Zach's), isolators (ISO), correctional labor colonies (ITK), the Bureau of forced labor, etc., with all the utility agencies, companies and personnel in maintaining the GULAG, where he established the Department of places of detention (OMZ).
