DOOLING MERCURY FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SECOND EDITION

Description

Manufactured in limited numbers by the legendary Dooling Brothers over a span of just a few short months in late 1941, this super collectable has the original upholstered seat option,  original  one year only "Tornado" OK 60 Ignition engine with rear facing timer and front facing rotary valve. Many "experts" in the field consider this the most beautiful of all the Dooling manufactured tether cars. Most other Dooling cars were produced by the thousands. The ignition and fuel systems have period correct or mostly NOS components. The  body hasn't been polished. Dooling supplied a flat piece of sheet aluminum which was hand fashioned into a belly pan. That similarly applies here. All four tires are DOOLING original and have some flat spots, bare thread areas, cracks and wobble when turned.
Engine turns over with a nice pop. Front drive differential gears rotate smoothly. This is an 80 year old car and as such,  no attempt has ever been made by the seller to run it. We emphasize that there is no guaranty and that the sale is final.
