    Description

    Offered from a local estate is an antique sterling silver pill box with gilt look lining and mirror inside lid
    Made in Birmingham, England by S&Co ((Sydney & Co?) The hallmarks date this to 1926
    The lid has an applied sterling and enameled Coat of Arms or Crest for the City of London Corporation:
    2 winged dragons holding a shield of white enamel with red cross ( a small sword in upper left of shield)
    and a Knight's helmet at top with plumes
    A ribbon with the legend in Latin: Domine Dirige Nos (O Lord Guide Us)
    and London below
    This antique has rubbing wear on sides and polishing wear on top
    It also has some small round dings sticking out on bottom, which in light of the lining is hard to understand
    as the lining shows lighter dents, but it is what it is and still lovely
    There is a clean mirror inside the lid
    1 3/4" across and about 5/8" high top is domed
